چکیده

Cobalt chromium (CoCr) alloys are utilized to make dental prosthesis. Casting CoCr is a common operation in dentistry laboratories due its low cost. surplus (metal remaining the sprue and crucible former) frequently reused by reduce recycle metal waste. However, quality safety of these recast require further information. Microbial attachment surface prostheses may affect safety. Biofilm formation on can cause biocorrosion secondary infection. The effects different proportions Chromium alloy bacterial adhesion not clear. purpose this study was investigate how recasting affects Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) adhesion. Twenty disk-shaped specimens (n= 20, allocated for 5 groups) were prepared from (Remanium GM; Dentaurum) with (100% new alloy, 25% 50% 75% 100% alloy). After immersion suspension 24 hours, number bacteria that adhere specimen’s counted using Colony Forming Units. Data analyzed one-way ANOVA (α = 0.05). significantly affected (p < An increased proportion showed an increase S. specimen surface.

Bacterial adhesion of Streptococcus mutans to orthodontic adhesives with various filler-volume fractions.

INTRODUCTION The aim of this in-vitro study was to investigate the effect of the filler-volume fraction of experimental composite adhesives on the bacterial adhesion of Streptococcus mutans. METHODS Three experimental adhesive groups were created: an unfilled urethane-dimethacrylate (UDMA) adhesive, UDMA and a filler-volume fraction of 35%, and UDMA and a filler-volume fraction of 70%. The em...

Adhesion of salivary components to Streptococcus mutans peptides.

Streptococcus mutans is the main microorganism associated to dental caries; it adheres to the dental enamel by interacting with the acquired film's proteins and the cell surface adhesin, called variously antigen PAc. At least two distinct sites in PAc interact with salivary receptors in vitro, these are within residues 816-1213, the most conserved portion of PAc, and within residues 186-469, th...

Adhesion of Streptococcus Mutans to Zirconia, Enamel, IPS Empress II, Noble Alloy and Base-metal: An In-Vitro Comparative Study

Introduction: With increased usage of restorative materials, dentists are more concerned in choosing a suitable material with lower adhesion of pathogens like streptococci. This comparative in vitro study aimed to compare adhesion of streptococcus mutans to zirconia, IPS Empress II, noble alloy, and base-metal. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, 50 specimens (5 mm diameter disk ...

Corrosion of dental alloys in artificial saliva with Streptococcus mutans

A comparative study of the corrosion resistance of CoCr and NiCr alloys in artificial saliva (AS) containing tryptic soy broth (Solution 1) and Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) species (Solution 2) was performed by electrochemical methods, including open circuit potential measurements, impedance spectroscopy, and potentiodynamic polarization. The adherence of S. mutans to the NiCr and CoCr allo...

A novel route for processing cobalt-chromium-molybdenum orthopaedic alloys.

Spark plasma sintering has been used for the first time to prepare the ASTM F75 cobalt-chromium-molybdenum (Co-Cr-Mo) orthopaedic alloy composition using nanopowders. In the preliminary work presented in this report, the effect of processing variables on the structural features of the alloy (phases present, grain size and microstructure) has been investigated. Specimens of greater than 99.5 per...
